IV Fluids in Daytona & New Smyrna
At PrimeCare Urgent Care centers of Daytona and New Smyrna, we can assist with intravenous fluid (IV) regulation for a number of treatments.

What is an IV?
Intravenous fluid regulation is the administration of fluid through the bloodstream. Your medical professional must regulate the amount of fluids that are given to ensure you are not given too much, or too little, fluid.
When do I Need an IV?
There are a number of reasons to have fluids administered via an IV. These commonly include:
- Nausea and allergic reactions
- Dehydration caused by illness or excessive physical activity
The fluids that make up the treatments will vary in terms of the needs of the patient, but often contain water with sugar or electrolytes, and of course medications. Depending on the reason for treatment, the weight/age of the patient, and other factors, each patient will be given a specific regulation to ensure they get the proper amount of fluids at the proper rate.
